Histopathological Findings in Prostatic Chips and its Correlation with Prostate Specific Antigen Levels

Objectives: To determine the pattern of histological findings in prostatic chips obtained from cases enlarged prostate gland and to correlate with PSA levels. Materials Methods: It was a cross sectional descriptive study conducted Northwest General Hospital , Peshawar 1st January 2018 23rd December 2021. A total 500 male features prostate, frequency, urgency dribbling mean age 52 ± 12.3 years (range 45 -80 years) were included study. The biopsy specimens levels done all cases. subjected microscopic examinations recorded proforma. correlated Mean standard deviation used for quantitative data. Frequency percentages qualitative data Results: Out benign hypertrophy seen 375 (75%) 125 (25%) had micro invasive carcinoma . All specific antigen less than 4ng. carcinoma, 120 (96%) >10ng Sensitivity at 10ng/ml 96%. Conclusion: Benign is commonest lesion pathology. useful marker presence or absence patients hypertrophy.
